For Youth
Do you want to learn to lead, initiate community service projects, discover your passions, and make life-long friends? From food science to ceramics, from electricity to raising sheep, 4-H has something for you.
4-H welcomes youth members from all backgrounds and locations. 4-H Members have the opportunity to participate in the 4-H program through science after school, community clubs, camps, events and conferences.
Enrollment Process
All 4-H youth (ages 5-19) must enroll annually (July 1 through June 30). 4-H Enrollment is conducted by each 4-H Club and the Sacramento County 4-H Office.
Eligibility
Youth are eligible to participate in 4-H if they meet the following criteria:
- Primary Members (also called Cloverbuds or Mini-members) - must be 5 years old by December 31 of the program year. Primary members cannot enroll in large animal projects. Youth enrolling or turning 9 after December 31 must participate as a Primary Member until the end of the program year.
- 4-H Members - Must be 9 years old by December 31 of the program year and may continue in the program until the end of the calendar year in which they become 19 years of age.
Steps to Take:
1. Find a local community club by searching the Sacramento County 4-H Clubs Lists.
Youth and families should connect with the 4-H Club and Leader that they are interested in before complete the remaining steps below. Youth can also participate in 4-H camps, 4-H science after school and 4-H events and conferences. For more information on these opportunities, please fill out the

2. Enroll in the CA 4-H Youth Development Program.
If you are new to 4-H, please connect with a 4-H Club or the County 4-H Office to learn more about enrollment, before you enroll online. If you are a returning 4-H member, you will enroll using the
CA ZSuite system, with your same login information. Forgot your password or email? Request it through
